I've been doing a bit of wood burning every now and again, and am posting the whole lot at once so as to overload your senses. I quite like being able to develop a pattern and replicate it as I go along the woodburning, it makes it easier to know what to do, but I will admit to freehanding most of these as opposed to following a sketch I made directly on the wood, which certainly has an impact on the end quality. However, I quite enjoyed making these, and I'm fairly certain other people may like looking at them. Well, some of them, anyways. The one you can see here was a bit of late night sketching that I realized may look nice on a coin, and thus did I do it because I could. I like the look of it, though practice would make it a tad more perfect. I've also quite enjoyed putting little titles on the back of the coins I make. Despite what grade school instilled in me, I actually enjoy cursive, especially when intense heat is involved, though I think a little something more than twenty-second names oughta be put there to take up all the space. These are born of a loosening up of my holding back from using the limited amount of wood-discs I have, realizing I can get more when I'm out and if I don't use them, nothing's gonna be made. They aren't the best, but they're certainly a start that I will be progressing from. I am somewhat embarassed about messing up the cursive 'h' on the Sharp Petal one, which you can find in the Read More Section if you're not already able to see the larger gallery below. Hope you enjoy! |
